美国国立卫生研究院 (NIH)化学、生物化学或生物物理学博士后招聘
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Theoretical Molecular Biophysics Laboratory at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, led by Dr. José Faraldo-Gómez. The successful candidate will utilize state-of-the-art molecular simulations and other computational approaches to study the structure, mechanism and organization of membrane proteins involved in transport, bioenergetics and/or signaling.
The National Institutes of Health campus in Bethesda, Maryland, is a world-class research and training environment with great potential for interdisciplinary science. A wide array of career-advancement and specialized training opportunities is also available on campus, as well as numerous recreational activities.
Candidates must have received (or be expecting) a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biophysics, within the past 5 years. Postdoctoral experience is not required, but a good publication record that includes two or more first-author articles in peer-reviewed journals is essential. Candidates must have an advanced understanding of protein and membrane structure and physical chemistry; extensive training and experience with conventional and enhanced-sampling molecular simulations; proficiency in Linux-based systems and scripting languages; and fluency in spoken and written English. The following are not strictly required but would be advantageous: demonstrable programming skills in C/C++; the capacity to improve or develop molecular and numerical simulation methodologies; experience with force-field development using quantum-mechanical and/or statistical methods; experience in computational and/or experimental membrane protein biology.
The starting stipend will range from $54,100 to $59,850, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including vacation, sick leave, holidays, life insurance and health benefits. A subsidy for public-transportation costs may also be available. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, and may be renewed annually for a maximum of 5 years.
Qualified individuals should contact Dr. José Faraldo-Gómez by e-mail, at jose.faraldo@nih.gov. Please attach a comprehensive curriculum vitae, publication list and contact details for 3 or more referees. Applicants who are not US citizens or permanent residents may apply, indicating their immigration/visa status, if any.
NIH and DHHS are Equal Opportunity Employers. The NIH is dedicated to building a diverse community in its training and employment programs.
