Postdoctoral Fellow: Cardiovascular Biology, Physiology : Bern, Switzerland

We are seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Fellow in cardiovascular biology. Research projects are focussing on calcium signaling and cardiac excitation-contraction coupling on the cellular and molecular level, both in health and cardiac diseases. State-of-the art biophysical methods are applied including calcium imaging with laser-scanning confocal microscopy, uncaging approaches complemented by computational modeling approaches, electrophysiology and various biomolecular methods.

This position provides excellent academic career opportunities in a highly interactive and networked international environment and provides an opportunity to achieve scientific independence at an early point in your research. You will be able to develop your own research objectives, projects and proposals.

Qualifications: MD or PhD in a medical or biological discipline. High-level expertise in any of the used techniques and cardiovascular background knowledge would be an asset. Patch clamp and calcium imaging are highly encouraged. In addition, interest in university lecturer teaching for medical students at level Bachelor is crucial. Excellent knowledge of English or German is required.
