Position description
A position with Mayo Clinic in the Department of Molecular Medicine is focused on the development and clinical translation of oncolytic virus therapies and combination with cancer immunotherapies. The role will involve (i) design and implementation of preclinical studies utilizing murine models to investigate novel cancer immunotherapy combinations; (ii) utilization of imaging techniques and assay development to characterize pharmacodynamics of novel cancer immunotherapies; (iii) collaboration with researchers and clinicians to perform correlative studies for ongoing clinical trials; (iv) analyze data from whole exome/genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, and expression profiling to identify genetic biomarkers of response to cancer immunotherapy. Collaborative studies may include communication with care teams in the clinical setting, planning and conducting research activities with an emphasis on rigorous documentation. Qualified candidates will be expected to write manuscripts for publication, present results at national and international conferences, and apply for national research grants.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
