POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

Motor Neuron Center
We are aiming to recruit two postdoctoral scientists in the lab of Dr. George Mentis (www.mentislab.org) at the Motor Neuron Center at Columbia University. One of the research projects aims to study the genesis of locomotor behavior during normal development, by focusing on excitatory spinal interneurons. The second project involves studying the mechanisms of sensory-motor synapse elimination during normal development and in neurodegenerative diseases.
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in neuroscience with expertise in physiological assays, including patch clamp as well as optogenetics, coupled with experience with morphological methods and confocal microscopy. Candidates with a PhD in Neuroscience or Physiology are strongly encouraged to apply.
