Postdoctoral Fellow/Physiology – 18000001TB
Description
We are seeking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow who holds a Ph.D. in biophysics, physiology, or biochemistry.
Our research laboratory aims to understand the relationship between structure and function of ion channels (e.g., transient receptor potential and mechanosensitive channels) involved in somatosensation and in the vascular system using a multi-disciplinary approach that includes molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, and electrophysiology. The fellow will investigate the molecular basis by which different stimuli promote channel activation using functional (patch clamp) and structural approaches (cryo-electron microscopy).
The position will offer many opportunities to learn and apply a variety of functional and structural techniques to study ion channels, such as molecular biology, patch clamp, two-electrode voltage clamp, calcium imaging, and cryo-EM.
Qualifications
Experience in: protein purification techniques of recombinant membrane proteins (expressed in insect, or mammalian cells) is desired.
