Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available starting July 2019 in Dr. Tatyana Igumenova’s laboratory at Texas A&M University, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. The project will use atomistic Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations to uncover the molecular mechanisms of protein recruitment to membranes. The focus will be specifically on protein systems that are involved in signal transduction at the membrane surface. Computer simulations will be steered by the available experimental Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data. This position is ideal for applicants with extensive experience in computational techniques who would like to learn how to synergistically combine computational and experimental approaches to achieve atomic-level description of biomolecular systems.
Highly desirable skills include: direct experience with using GROMACS software for simulation of large biomolecular systems; experience in using Python for scientific software programming; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, or a related field. Salary is commensurate with experience.
