Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the Laboratory of Anil Bhushan at the Diabetes Center at University of California, San Francisco to investigate immune surveillance of tissue secretory senescent cells in metabolic diseases and autoimmunity. Ideal applicants should be familiar with modern cell and molecular biology techniques, cell culture and Flow cytometry. Preference will be given to highly motivated and focused applicants with evidence of excellent communication, scientific engagement and published papers in peer-reviewed journals. Post doc fellows will receive broad training that will hone research skills, interdisciplinary thinking as well as entrepreneurial skils to prepare them for careers in academia or the biotech start up settings. Previous fellows have been placed in academic positions, management consulting positions and scientific positions in a number of bay area start ups. The collegiality and interdepartmental organization at UCSF fosters interdisciplinary research and provides for broad training.
