Postdoctoral researcher for rain rate estimation at University of Bern,Switzerland 100 %
The project is about monitoring of the rain rate by ground-based microwave radiometers (HATPRO) in Switzerland. The long-term time series of rain rate will be determined and compared to coincident measurements of rain gauges. Possible trends are derived from the harmonized time series. An operational data processing chain will be developed for the rain rate. The project is in cooperation with MeteoSwiss in Payerne and is funded by the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS).
We seek a postdoctoral researcher with experience and interest in atmospheric research, precipitation, data analysis and microwave radiometry.
The 1-year project will start on 1 October 2020 in Bern.
