The MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology is an internationally renowned molecular and cell biology institute imbedded into University College London (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/LMCB/).
We are seeking highly motivated and creative scientist/s to join the team led by Professor Adolfo Saiardi, to study how inositol pyrophosphates regulate cellular metabolism. Specifically, how inositol based signalling control and is controlled by cellular energetics and phosphate homeostasis. The project will be addressing fundamental research questions at the crossroad between cell metabolism and cell signalling. Abnormal metabolism is central to the pathogenesis of many diseases. Therefore, acquiring a different perspective on metabolism regulation, the inositol-signalling viewpoint could provide new tools and approaches to improve human health.
Duration of the posts are offered for a period of two years in the first instance.
Candidates should possess (or shortly be awarded) a PhD degree in a relevant biomedical discipline. The post holder will be required to design, develop and be responsible for the delivery of internationally competitive research. Emphasis is placed on highly self-directed, team-oriented, creative individuals able to independently tackle original scientific projects.
