POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN FÉLIX REY’S STRUCTURAL VIROLOGY GROUP
Job Description
We are looking for a postdoc with background in Protein Biochemistry and Structural Biology to join our team at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France. We study human viruses, trying to answer fundamental questions related to viral entry, membrane fusion and virus-host interactions – in particular with cellular receptors and the immune system. We use a panel of approaches, primarily structural biology techniques (X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM) combined with biophysics and functional characterization.
The candidate must have some experience in recombinant protein expression and purification, and / or structural biology methods. Knowledge of cellular biology and hands-on experience with membrane proteins is a plus but is not necessary. Most importantly, the candidate needs to be resourceful, driven, and with a strong desire to learn new things and work in a team.
