Postdoctoral Fellowship position in Alzheimer’s disease and related age-associated dementias
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies and the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. The applicant will work on mechanisms of pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias using rodent models, with a specific focus on the role of tau, mechanisms of aging, and cerebrovascular pathways of AD. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biochemistry, genetics, cellular or molecular biology, physiology, or other related fields and have a record of creativity and strong scientific productivity. Working experience on mouse models, assessment of brain vascular function, optical imaging, primary neuron cell culture, molecular biology and mouse genetics, and a background in neuroscience and brain vascular biology are strongly preferred, but not exclusively required.
