POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY IN BALTIMORE (Jan - March 2021)
An independent, motivated individual with an interest in neurodegenerative disease and research experience in either cell biology and/or biochemistry is sought for a project in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. The Lindberg laboratory has received funding to establish the mechanism of action of the neuronally-expressed secretory chaperone proSAAS with regard to its known effects in blocking protein aggregation and improving cellular outcomes in neurodegenerative disease (we study Parkinson’s, ALS, and Alzheimer’s diseases). Current projects involve both animal work as well as structure-function analyses of in vitro interactions. We are especially interested in the role of liquid-liquid phase separation in neuroprotection. Please visit thelindberglab.com for more information.
