Postdoc position in Nephrology (m/f/d)
Studying mechanisms of genetic renal disease in drosophila and mouse
Project: - the lab is interested in studying mechanisms of genetic renal disease with a focus on monogenic causes of nephrotic syndrome - we are utilizing the and mouse animal models in conjunction with approaches in cell culture - genetic analysis of patient DNA for discovery of novel human disease genes will shortly be implemented in the lab - the podocyte-like nephrocytes will be employed to characterize disease genes functionally and for whole-animal drug screening to develop novel therapeutic strategies - the candidate will work in a diverse scientific environment with extensive support
Requirements: - we are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious candidate with a strong interest in basic research with clinical relevance - the applicant should hold a PhD degree in Biology, Molecular Medicine, or an equivalent discipline; alternatively applications from MD degree holders are most welcome
The position is fixed-term for two years with option for four years (full-time, DFG-funded) starting early in 2021.
