Postdoctoral Positions in Metabolic Engineering and Synthetic Biology
Job Description
The Avalos lab at Princeton University is currently accepting applications for postdoctoral or more senior research positions from highly qualified candidates interested in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology. We are a team of chemical and biological engineers, biochemists, molecular biologists, and microbiologists interested in developing biotechnological solutions to address challenges in renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, and human health. Our group specializes in dynamical and spatial control of engineered metabolisms using techniques such as optogenetics, subcellular engineering of natural (mitochondria) and synthetic (protein liquid condensates) organelles, microbial consortia, synthetic biology, cellular engineering, and protein engineering.
The group is part of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (https://cbe.princeton.edu/) as well as the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment (http://acee.princeton.edu) and is affiliated with the Department of Molecular Biology (https://molbio.princeton.edu/). Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, with a strong background in chemical and biological engineering, bioengineering, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related fields. Experience in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, or yeast, is a plus but not necessary. The starting date is flexible.
