Postdoctoral Research Associate in Machine Learning Applied To Materials Discovery GRADE 7
£35,327 – £40,928 pa
A three-year postdoctoral position is available for exceptional candidates with high-level skills in machine learning that can be applied to the discovery of new inorganic materials. Candidates should have a strong publication track record and demonstrated commitment to research excellence. Expertise in machine learning is essential. This position forms part of an interdisciplinary team working with computer scientists on the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council Programme Grant “Digital Navigation of Chemical Space for Function” to develop a new approach to materials design and discovery exploiting both machine learning and symbolic AI, demonstrated by the realisation of new functional materials. The project combines experimental and computational approaches. We welcome applications from ambitious researchers with the skills to contribute to the project goal across chemistry, physics and materials science. The project environment will facilitate the development of new skills and the demonstration of creativity and leadership.
