Nuffield Department of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Oxford Institute (CAMS-COI), Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, Roosevelt Drive, Oxford, OX3 7BN Grade 7: £33,309- £40,927 with a discretionary range to £44,706 p.a.
We are seeking a highly-motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the immunobiology of ageing team in the CAMS-COI.
You will contribute to the processing of clinical samples and their downstream analysis. You will work closely with the team leader to deliver and direct the objectives of the evolving team and foster collaborations with other groups in the NDM and CAMS-COI. You will also provide scientific and workplace guidance to research assistants and students.
It is essential that you hold (or are near to completing) a relevant PhD/DPhil in immunology or a related field. You will have experience in tissue and cell culture and Human Tissue Act-compliant tissue storage, including the isolation of peripheral blood leucocytes and phenotypic analysis of these, utilising techniques such as multi-laser flow cytometry and gene expression analysis. You will have experience in the preparation and isolation of skin for similar analysis, as well as imaging utilising techniques such as immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. You will also have previously undertaken functional analysis of T cells, including use of antigen-specific and polyclonal stimuli. Working in a collaborative environment with academic and clinical partners, excellent communication skills are required.
