The laboratory of the Principal Investigator seeks to understand the mechanisms leading to vascular smooth muscle cell dysfunction and increased vascular stiffness in chronic kidney disease. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Researcher will work independently, with little or no supervision, perform experimental procedures, analyze data, and plan further experiments. The project involves molecular biology, rodent surgeries, myography, and cardiovascular imaging. In addition, the incumbent will assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; provide training, supervision, and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.
