Postdoctoral Fellow

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position at UCLA Division of Dermatology is open immediately to join the Scumpia laboratory. The project is focused on immune system regulation of cutaneous wound healing and how it affects fibrosis versus skin regeneration fate decisions and using a novel immunomodulatory biomaterial to modulate the immune microenvironment of the wounds. The candidate is expected to have published in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals in any area of the biomedical sciences. We seek a motivated individual with expertise in translational models of skin disease. The project will focus on harnessing the immune system to induce skin regeneration following injury. A background in immunology, skin regeneration, and/or work with biomaterials is preferred. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree. The ideal candidate will have experience in transgenic rodent models and NGS approaches such as RNA-Seq and scRNA-Seq or spatial proteomics analyses with microscopy.
UCLA provides a dynamic, collaborative, and integrative research and training environment with state-of-the-art facilities in Westwood, Los Angeles. Fluency in English is required, and strong communication skill is a must. US citizenship or permanent residency is preferred but not required.
