Description
Your main task will be to contribute to the development and implementation of the Array Control and Data Acquisition(ACADA) software package for CTA telescopes, in close collaboration with the group at University of Geneva and the CTAO office.
If you wish a secondary task, you could either work the operation of the FACT and MAGIC telescopes and the analysis and interpretation of data from extragalactic gamma-ray sources, or on Monte Carlo studies for the development of next generation photo-sensors for future instruments.
The position has a duration of two years, with the possibility for extension. The position is open until filled.
Your profile
Essential criteria are:
PhD in Physics, Astronomy or a related field or a track record in software development
Good programming skills
English proficiency
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
In addition, experience in Monte Carlo studies, data analysis as well as high energy astronomy will be seen as an advantage.
