We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Microfluidics to join our Vaccine Formulation and Adjuvants group at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford.
You will be responsible for carrying out research for on vaccine encapsulation using a microfluidics system and for managing your own academic research and administrative activities. Adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols will among your responsibilities. You will act as a source of information and advice, providing guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students. You will contribute and develop ideas for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion), together with relevant experience in vaccine encapsulation. You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings and the ability to manage own academic research and associated activities. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in microfluidic systems and silicone chip design to work within established research programmes.
