A full-time postdoctoral fellow position is available in Professor Wenyi Wang's lab at the Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Wang's laboratory conducts cutting-edge research to understand the evolution of cancer genomes, aiming to uncover mechanisms of cancer initiation, progression, and therapeutic response. This research is fundamental to advancing our knowledge of cancer and improving patient outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly self-motivated postdoctoral candidate with experience in prostate or thyroid cancer research and strong analytical skills in single-cell RNA-seq data, preferably also in whole-genome sequencing data.
Position Qualification: The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, statistics, biostatistics, computer science or a related field. Extensive experience with R and Python, and prior experience in computational biology are required. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to engage in independent thinking, be meticulous in their attitude towards work, and be collegial as a team member. The candidate must demonstrate scholarship through at least two published first-author manuscripts.
Salary Range: $70,000 to $76,000
