Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. This full-time Postdoctoral Researcher position will support research in the Campbell Lab (pdcampbelllab.com) within the Department of Psychiatry’s Neurodevelopment and Psychosis section at the University of Pennsylvania. Research in the lab is focused on studying genes associated with neurodevelopmental/neuropsychiatric disorders (such as schizophrenia and autism) using high throughput behavioral and whole brain imaging approaches in the zebrafish model system in order to identify novel biomarkers and treatment targets. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for designing experiments, analyzing data, and publishing findings in reputable scientific journals.
Responsibilities
Design and conduct experiments related to zebrafish behavior, brain imaging, and genes associated with neurodevelopmental/neuropsychiatric disorders.
Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods.
Collaborate with team members and other collaborators.
Prepare and present research findings at conferences and seminars.
Write and submit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Mentor other lab members.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in relevant fields to inform ongoing research.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in a relevant field such as neuroscience, cell/molecular biology, or other.
Strong background in zebrafish, molecular genetic approaches, imaging, and/or computer programming is desirable.
Proven ability to conduct independent research and work collaboratively within a team.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective presentation of research findings.
