Postdoctoral Position: Mast Cell Biology
The Division of Intramural Research is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position in the Mast Cell Biology Section (MCBS) of the Laboratory of Allergic Diseases in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The mast cell is the focus of the MCBS research effort.
This multifunctional inflammatory cell is involved in both innate and acquired immunity and plays a central role in the induction of allergic inflammation. An integrated program investigating mast cell biology includes studies into the growth and differentiation of mast cells, epigenetic programming, mast-cell signal transduction, and products generated by mast cells that lead to disease. The MCBS program emphasizes basic research that may be translated into the clinic, where protocols include studies on the pathogenesis of urticaria, anaphylaxis, and mastocytosis.

We are looking for motivated individuals with a Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, cell biology, or related fields. Experience in animal models, FACS analysis, and molecular biology are preferred.
